Breaking Free

Thursday, June 9, 2016

Freedom to me means not being labeled by society.  Unfortunately, many people aren't able to experience a state of being free.  Why? Because of self-imprisonment.  Now, imprisonment comes in many forms, but the worst kind is self-imprisonment. I believe that self-imprisonment stems from stereotypes placed on each individual by individuals. We could easily blame society for it, but the true answer is staring right back at us in the mirror. Take Back Your Power. Never give someone the power to dictate who you are, or how you should live your life. Nowadays, I understand that society is set up to inflict fear on how we live our lives. Society does this very well by labeling or stereotyping an individual. I've realized that subconsciously these stereotypes are influencing a person to be "said stereotype."  Only because they've been told or seen at a young age that that's who they are, or who they are to become. However, God has given us the greatest gift of all that each and every one of us is uniquely made. There's only one you. Knowing this should provide you the ultimate feeling of freedom for your mind and spirit. Freedom of the mind comes with knowing who you are, and breaks every stereotype that is placed on you. Freedom of the spirit means you're telling God that you are ready for him to guide and teach you His way. Once you've freed yourself from this world people will take notice. They will say, " Hey, something's different about you." And you will say, " Yes because I'm free." It's hard to hear from God when your mind is occupied with labels, and negative thoughts about yourself. God didn't put you here to be influenced by the world, but for you to be an influence to the world. So free yourself. Rid your mind and spirit of the negativity of this world. Free yourself. Listen to God speaking to you and giving you your God given purpose. You are more than what society made you out to be because it didn't make you in the first place. Live freely knowing that freedom is just a prayer away.
