Humble Beginnings

There's no other way to start off a new year other than to feel and be grateful. I'm talking about that deep spiritual feeling of gratitude that humbles you. Being humbled in this way has been an eye opener for me. It helped me see the simple and what may seem small things in life. The ridiculous things I used to care about has now been erased from my thoughts and has been replaced by what's truly important. But it took me all last year to get here, to this humbling atmosphere. I've noticed in this past couple of months how 2016 wasn't the best year for many people. I totally understand because for a minute I felt disappointed with how my year was going last year. However, at the very end of the year, God gave me an AHA moment. Throughout the year, last year, I was put through a series of test. They were spiritual ones. Not the typical test we're used to. These tests were to see how I would react in each situation that arose. To see if I remembered what God has promised me, and who I am, even when my reality would prove differently.  I guess it was a faith test. You see, right before I had my aha moment things were "still."  I mean nothing was moving in the areas of my career, and the creative flow that I once had slowed down a bit. I became frustrated during this process, so I asked God, " Why are things so still?"  It took some time to receive my answer. But when that aha moment came I heard God say, " It's not about you." I lie to you not I broke down in tears. He proceeds to say, " If I take away acting, your abilities to paint, and your inspiration for writing, you are still who I made you spiritually." Within that very moment, I was able to see what God has been trying to get me to see that whole year. That was to love who I am and see who I am the way He does. All those abilities don't make me they're  just things God has gifted me to do. God humbled me by keeping me still. To help me see and understand what's important. So, I welcome this year with a humble spirit that is ready to move out of Gods way and let Him have full control.

I'm sharing this experience to help someone. In hopes that you too move out of God's way and let Him work in your life. So often we ask Him to help and move in our lives, but He can't do that if we don't have faith in Him. Have faith and let Him work.

Happy New Year! 🎉

  5. I've had a similar epiphany but I wasn't sure how I could put it in words and thank you for doing that. You see just today, a friend and I were talking about something similar as she nearly lost her husband to the cold hands of death, things like this just remind us of what's important and that it's really not about us. Thank you for sharing this message.

Absolutely, we must be able to see that it's not about us, but a bigger picture. Thank you for sharing, and thank you for reading! Have a great one! :)
