Sitting in silence: a process we must go through to understand who we are, but it requires for us to be by ourselves.

I feel as if this process happens naturally with the course of life.  Keep in mind that this process will occur more than once in your lifetime because we’re always growing. Think of it as “The Preparation Phase." Every time you encounter this phase, it will feel unfamiliar to you. This process happens because you're getting ready to enter into a new level of self-awareness. During this time it's essential that we go on this journey by ourselves. Not to the point of total isolation, but just enough to understand what we need to learn.

Sitting in silence can be terrifying, but at the same time very peaceful. It's terrifying because we are left to deal with the ugly truth of ourselves, and it's peaceful because we develop an understanding of who we are. This phase in life teaches us many valuable lessons. You learn more about yourself, your purpose, how to have a healthy thought process, and how to heal from the pain of your past. To discover and learn these things about self we have to master the process of letting go.

Honestly, letting go during this process was one of the best decisions I could've made. Once I surrendered to the silence, I learned how to pay attention to the small details of life. Noticing the little detail of life taught me something essential, patience. Trust me you're going to need a ton of patience during your journey. So, don't keep putting off this time to discover yourself with being busy of the world. Take these precious moments of silence to love and understand who you are.
